basic knowledge 2: the 10 characters

Now you know how to come up with the 8 numbers. What about the “Judge, Slaughter, Owl…” things that appear above or below the numbers? What are those? Let me show you.

You probably heard about yin and yang. The rule of yin and yang is: yin opposes yang and yang opposes yin. Simple? Indeed.

You probably heard about the five elements, there are two sets of rules: Wood supports Fire, Fire supports Earth, Earth supports Metal and Metal supports Water. Wood overcomes Earth, Earth overcomes Water, Water overcomes Fire, Fire overcomes Metal and Metal overcomes Wood. I think they are still pretty simple.

The next step. So we have numbers. 1 to 10 and (1) to (12). Each of those numbers has two properties, a yin yang property, from now on I will use positive and negative to replace the words yin and yang, and an element property.

The property of 1 is positive Wood, 2 is negative Wood, 3 is positive Fire, 4 is negative Fire, 5 is positive Earth, 6 is negative Earth, 7 is positive Metal, 8 is negative Metal, 9 is positive Water, 10 is negative Water. Can you see the pattern? Elements start with Wood and follow the supporting circle. Odd codes are positive, even codes are negative. That’s a way to remember.

As one element, there are 5 possible relations with another element: support, being support, overcome, being overcome and same as each other. So every code has a yin yang property and an element property, how many relations can exist between two codes? The answer is 10. Just double the 5 relations by same charge and opposite charge. So the 10 relations are: support with the same charge, support with the opposite charge, being support with the same charge, being supported with the opposite charge, etc…

Among 8 codes of a life code, one code is the center. The code is decimal date code, also called self code. Except the self code, we have 7 more codes. Each of those codes constructs a relation with the decimal date code. 10 ten possible relations are:

The code that generates the self code with the same charge is called Owl;
The code that generates the self code with the opposite charge is called a Guardian;
The code that overcomes the self code with the same charge is called a Slaughter;
The code that overcomes the self code with the opposite charge is called a Judge;
The code that is generated by the self code with the same charge is called a Gourmet;
The code that is generated by the self code with the opposite charge is called a Rebel;
The code that is overcome by the self code with the same charge is called a Gambler.
The code that is overcome by the self code with the opposite charge is called a Collector.
The code that has the same property and the same charge with the self code is called a Comrade;
The code that has the same property and the opposite charge with the self code is called a Pirate;

And these are the 10 characters. For example, if my self code is 2. In another word, it is negative Wood, then 1 will be my Pirate, because 1 is positive Wood. Then 2 will be my Comrade, 3 will be my Rebel, 4 will be my Gourmet, 5 will be my Collector, 6 will be my Gambler, 7 will be my Judge, 8 will be my Slaughter, 9 will be my Guardian, and 10 will be my Owl.

Guardian and Owl both support the self code, the difference is opposite charge and same charge. Sometimes yin and yang property doesn’t matter, so Owl and Guardian are collectively called Shield. Shield means the code generates the self code, regardless the charge.

Similarly, Rebel and Gourmet are collectively called Talent; Collector and Gambler are collectively called Money; Comrade and Pirate are collectively called Strength; Judge and Slaughter are collectively called Authority.
