As I mentioned in the previous blog, soccer coaches who like to make complex tactical arrangement usually have strong Slaughter. Rafa Benitez has strong Slaughter for the supporting of Earth (Money), so he needs to control Slaughter. He has (1) and (5) merge to Water as Shield to covert Slaughter, so Shield serves as favor. As I mentioned in the previous blog, Authority-Shield is a structure for good soccer managers. So Rafa is a good soccer manager.

Like the example in the previous blog, Rafa had Talent fortune when he was playing. His Talent fortune ended 1986, that’s the year he retired at the age 26. And he becomes a manager since then.

Looking at his fortunes, (9) really stands out for (9)(1)(5) construct a full merge to Water as favor, so (9) fortune should be the prime time in his life. In reality, he indeed made the biggest achievement in his (9) fortune which is 1996 to 2006:

He won the La Liga twice after coaching Valencia in 2001, he also won the UEFA Cup, and did really well in the Champions League.

Rafa made a transfer to Liverpool in 2004, and won the Champions League in the same year. That was the time Rafa was considered one of the best coaches in Europe.

Rafa’s fortunes started to go downward since 2006, and so was his career. In the 2005-2006 season, Liverpool made 82 points in the Premier League which is their record. But after Rafa started to have disagreement with his USA bosses since the 2007-2008 season. In 2010, Liverpool got the 7th place in the Premier League, and Rafa Benitez left the club.

After leaving Liverpool, Rafa coached Inter, Chelsea, Napoli and Real Madrid. All Failed. He never reproduced the achievements he achieved in the (9) fortune.
